Our recent six-day stay at the four-star Amalia Hotel Athens exceeded all our expectations. The hotel’s prime location in the city center, next to Syntagma Square, the Parliament, and the National Garden, made it an ideal base for exploring Athens’ various attractions.
Transportation to the hotel was convenient and affordable, with the X95 bus from the airport dropping us off at Syntagma Square for just €5.90, a short two-minute walk from the hotel.
The breakfast selection was superb, featuring a wide variety of traditional Greek cuisine. However, what truly set Amalia Hotel apart was the outstanding service from the staff. We would like to particularly commend Dimitri Kluee, Julia at the front desk, and room maid Violeta on the third floor for their exceptional hospitality. Their dedication to meeting our every need made our stay all the more memorable.
Amalia Hotel’s excellent location allowed us to walk to all the main attractions, including the Panathenaic Stadium, the Acropolis, Monastiraki Square, the Roman Agora, and the Ancient Agora. We also took a short, affordable taxi ride to Lycabettus Hill for just €6-7.
Our room on the sixth floor was spacious and comfortable, with an enormous bathroom and a balcony boasting spectacular views of the Parliament, National Garden, and Mt. Lycabettus. The room was immaculately clean, the bed cozy, and the coffee/tea tray a thoughtful touch.
The breakfast selection ranked among the best we’ve seen in a four-star hotel, with delicious options ranging from fresh juices, coffee and tea, cereals, toast, pastries, cakes, pancakes, fruit, and cooked breakfast items.
The hotel’s proximity to major attractions, shopping districts, and museums made it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers. We always felt safe, even when returning late at night, and the staff were consistently attentive and helpful.
We wholeheartedly recommend Amalia Hotel Athens to anyone visiting the city and look forward to our next stay at this exceptional hotel.
