Our stay at the 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens was an experience to remember. Located just a short walk from the iconic Acropolis and right in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the hotel offers a perfect blend of traditional Greek charm and contemporary amenities. With its outdoor pool, fitness center, and stunning rooftop Ioannis bar-restaurant, the Royal Olympic exceeded all our expectations.
Upon arrival, we were struck by the hotel’s elegant decor and warm, inviting atmosphere. The air-conditioned rooms and suites were thoughtfully designed, featuring a minibar, hairdryer, bathroom amenities, a work desk, and satellite TV. The soundproofed units ensured a restful night’s sleep, and most rooms offered beautiful views of the Temple of Zeus or the swimming pool garden.
One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast, which surpassed our expectations. Contrary to some reviews, we found the selection and quality to be excellent. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept soundly each night, using earplugs to block out any city noise.
The hotel’s central location made it easy for us to explore Athens’ picturesque Plaka neighborhood, filled with traditional restaurants and souvenir shops. Syntagma Square and other major attractions were also just a short distance away. As business travelers, we appreciated the free indoor parking and the 18 fully equipped meeting rooms, capable of accommodating up to 700 guests.
The Royal Olympic’s staff were professional, warm, and always ready to help. The multilingual team was available 24/7, and the on-site library added a touch of sophistication to our stay.
