During our recent trip to Athens, we discovered Indian Haveli, an incredible Indian restaurant located just a 2-minute walk from the Acropolis metro station. With its traditionally decorated, warm, exotic, and romantic ambiance, Indian Haveli offers a delightful dining experience that transports its guests to the rich culture of India.
What sets Indian Haveli apart from other Indian restaurants is their focus on authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and minimal oil, resulting in light and delicious dishes that truly represent the essence of Indian cuisine. The menu boasts a wide array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as an extensive selection of wines and beers to complement each dish.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and hospitable staff, who offered excellent recommendations and made us feel right at home. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including aloo gobhi, mixed vegetables, chicken curry, and an assortment of naans and rotis, each bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced.
The standout dish for us was the Bhindy Masala, which left us craving more. We ended our meal with a sweet treat of gulab jamun and mango kulfi—the latter being one of the best we’ve ever tasted.
The portions at Indian Haveli are generous, and the food is reasonably priced. We were particularly impressed by their thoughtful takeaway packaging, complete with onions, lemons, and chilies.
In addition to the outstanding food, Indian Haveli’s excellent service truly sets it apart. We felt as though we were dining in the comfort of our own home, thanks to the attentive and caring staff.
