This summer’s Release Festival will be kicked off by an invasion from the north. Nightwish, the Finnish symphonic metal band, will lead what is expected to be a fierce and theatrical night. Be it team Tarja or Floor (the bands’ former and present-day lead singers, respectively) there’s a solid reason for you to attend: according to the band’s mastermind, Tuomas Holopainen, they will be “hanging up their spurs for an indeterminate time, as far as live concert performances go” after this June.
The day’s line-up includes Swedish band In Flames, with a career that spans over 30 years, and Finnish band Insomnium for some good measure of melodic death metal.
As per usual, Release offers multi-ticket options. For example, you can pair Nightwish’s day with Helloween, or Amon Amarth, or both. Not bad at all!
