Varkiza Beach is a stunning coastal destination located in the southern suburbs of Athens, Greece. I had the pleasure of visiting Varkiza Beach and it was truly an unforgettable experience.
To get to Varkiza Beach, you can take a bus or drive. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes by car and 45-60 minutes by bus, depending on traffic. If you’re driving, you can take the Athens-Sounio Avenue (Poseidonos Avenue) and then follow the signs to Varkiza Beach. There is ample parking available near the beach.
Upon arrival, I was struck by the natural beauty of the area. The beach is less crowded than some of the more popular beaches in Greece, which creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The water is exceptionally clear and calm, making it perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities. The beach is also equipped with amenities such as sun loungers, umbrellas, and showers.
One of the highlights of my visit to Varkiza Beach was the nearby Varkiza Resort. The resort is a luxury hotel with several amenities, including a spa, a pool, and several restaurants. It’s a great spot to relax and indulge in some luxury.
The beach is also well-equipped with several restaurants and cafes nearby, where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine and refreshing drinks while taking in the stunning views of the Saronic Gulf.
