The city’s longest-running music festival, the Athens Jazz, returns for its 21st edition, under the auspices of Athens City Festival at the Technopolis. More than 3000 musicians have participated through the years, turning the festival into an impressive archive of contemporary world jazz. This year, the organisers are making a bold statement, hosting only women artists on its stage. Dedicated not only to jazz music, but to all women, the festival aspires to inspire the next generation of female jazz artists and to further empower the female presence in the music industry. Tania Giannouli Trio, Lia Hide and Christina Psycha are the first local artists who have been announced.
